the polar keybed is unusual. I have come to really like it for certain kinds of playing. the aftertouch has a long range of motion. this means that if you play a key hard or push on it after it has been fully depressed, it will jump into the aftertouch region. this gives pretty good feedback for aftertouch, but it also protects the keyboard a lot from pounding. (shouldn't pound but sometimes get carried away

) it's a completely different animal from a conventional weighted keyboard with a hard stop at the bottom of the key throw.
