Default Virus A Help!

Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum and I need a little help. I just got a virus A in good aesthetic condition and I just need a little help in figuring out if It's broken or I'm doing something wrong. I finally figured out how to scroll through the patches (i'm familiar with keyboard/workstations but I've never had a real synth!) and single mode doesn't make any sound, but I see the little note triggering the virus in the lcd. On multi mode, only certain patches work. I started reading the manual online, but I haven't found anything yet. All the lights turn on and the demo works. And everything checks out, i really feel like im doing something wrong, but I wanna make sure its not broken. Are there updates for this thing also?

Hi,
If the demo works, then your Virus probably works fine, but is not configured.

What OS do you have on it? Depending on the OS, you might be able to audition sounds directly by pressing the two buttons above the LCD screen together. If you cannot hear sound, it could be because the patch/multi you're trying to listen to has it its outputs routed to matrix or some other location.

You can update the OS to V2.8 maximum, which is worth doing if its not already loaded. Download the OS from the Access Virus website (in the support->downloads section). Its a bit of a learning curve to update the OS, but its worth doing because you'll learn a lot.

For performing a factory reset, do this: Hold the keys LFO 1 SHAPE and LFO 2 SHAPE while switching the VIRUS on.
