Getting the TI 2 Vocoder to Work?

Hi Folks

Have any of you guys (or gals) got the Vocoder working on the Virus TI?

I can't seem to get it working but I may be using the wrong kind of microphone (just a cheap around the neck job) not really meant for any instrument.

Any advice on a good but not too expensive mic to get?
