For the most part I find the Waldorf Q too cold and the ocilators lack soul.
If you want the cold digital feelling then its really good.....unbeatable! But for me, I need a digital synth to sound as warm as possible. Cold digital sounds get very tiring on the ears (I discovered that with the Casio CZ3000). Waldorf Q is really good for industrial, sci-fi, certain kinds of ambient music. I was going to buy one....but weirdly enough my UK dealer advised me not to. Apparently their products have reliability issues and Waldorf as a company are not that easy to deal with. Dont take my word as Gospel though.....that was what I was told....and it maybe totally untrue. If you seriously thinking of buying a Q then I would suggest u go pick up a 2nd hand one....just in case. DS
